Woman, 65 Dies In Lagos Hotel During 'Sex' Fight

A 55-year-old man, Isiaka Akanbi has been arrested following the death of 65-year-old woman in a hotel room at Olodi Apapa in Lagos state.
The incident was said to have occurred at about 7pm, when Akanbi took the woman, identified as Risikat Raheem, to the popular hotel located at Aribo street, Olodi Apapa for sex.
While in the hotel room, they both had an argument which led to a scuffle, and Akanbi was said to have beaten her. This subsequently resulted in her death, PM News reports.
Akanbi had tried to escape but he was caught by the hotel management, who reported the matter to the police and he was arrested.
The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba for further investigation.

The actual cause of the disagreement that allegedly led to Akanbi beating Risikat, and which subsequently led to her death, is yet to be ascertained.
Her corpse has been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The suspect has been charged with murder before Ebutte Metta Magistrate’s court under the Criminal Code.
When he was arraigned before the court, his plea was not taken.
The presiding magistrate, Mr A.O. Komolafe ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi.

The court also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
