Garba Shehu, head of the media team to President Muhammudu Buhari, has revealed why the first citizen is yet to move into his presidential residence at the Aso Rock, Abuja.

Shehu, in an interview with the Punch, said the current cleaning and refurbishing of the President’s official residence is the reason why Buhari has not yet moved.
He said: “As far as the President is concerned, the place (his official residence) is not ready yet. Workers are cleaning and refurbishing the place. Once the exercise is completed, the President will move in.”
Shehu said the president will soon be moving into his official residence.
The Punch says an investigation into the situation could be traced to the failure of Buhari to appoint important aides three days after his inauguration and refusing to relocate to the state house.
The dilemma has also caused security operatives to be at crossroads on the direction their work will take this week.
An official close to the office of the president, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Buhari’s behaviour has made workers unsure of his schedule for the week.
