But Chris had a plan ... flying "the entire family" to Disney World but Chris insists Nia turned him down flat.

The Year God Died

So God died, and was laid to rest. Then, as expected, hell broke loose.

Satan turned the world upside-down. We ate frogs as food, and it was just one frog a week.

We had no water - not even our urine- for drinking. We drank our tears.

Demons taught us in schools without books. Our classes held in the dark. The sun was nowhere.

Chickens lived longer than children. Corpses were like grains of sand. Death was a friend.

So many more I cannot tell.

Pause. Breathe in. Breath out.

There is no such year. It has not been, and will not be.

My friend, God is not dead. He is still very much in charge!

Nigerian Army Have Inducted The BTR-94

The Nigerian military, which is currently gaining success in the war against the Boko Haram insurgency, received some new heavy armoured machines.
Facebook user Nazeer Justice Ibrahim has published photos of the BTR-94 armoured personnel carriers (APCs), saying that Nigeria is re-arming at an alarming rate.

According to him, the Ukrainian-made BTR-94 APCs are a perfect substitution for Toyota 4×4 Hilux vans, which only are suitable for “chasing area boys in Ojota, Lagos, or Yan Daba in Kofar Naisa in Kano.”

The BTR-94 armoured personnel carrier was developed in Ukraine in the late 1990s. It is essentially a Soviet BTR-80 APC with some upgrades. Jordan ordered 50 of these APCs in 1997. Deliveries commenced in 2000. However in 2004 Jordan donated all BTR-94s to Iraq, probably because of failures.

In the wake of the botched deal for Israeli AH-1 Cobra helicopters, the NAF seems to have have acquired armed Gazelle helicopters instead.
The force was spotted using Gazelle helicopters at a NAF facility in Lagos.
The supplier of these helicopters remains unclear but the upgrade and modernisation of a pair of Super Puma helicopters (NAF 565 and NAF 567) was completed at the facilities of Eurocopter Romania in 2012.

It is already known that the NAF has weaponised a few Super Puma helicopters which is a highly commendable step.

Buhari Turned Down Use Of Exotic Cars In London

The president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, who is presently in London on a private trip, reportedly turned down a Rolls Royce made available for him by the Nigerian High Commission in the UK.
The Nation reports that officials of the Nigerian High Commission were shocked by Buhari’s action when on landing at Heathrow Airport he declined to make use of the Rolls Royce and other facilities provided for him.

It was reported that after exchanging pleasantries with the embassy officials headed by the High Commissioner, Dalhatu Tafida, Buhari courteously told them that his visit was strictly private and that he had made preparation for all his needs while in the United Kingdom.
A source at the airport said that Buhari thanked the Nigerian diplomats for the warm welcome and hopped into a less prestigious car he had ordered and drove out of the airport.
It appeared he was uncomfortable with the number of exotic cars in the convoy,” the source said.
He added: “Hard as the stunned diplomats present tried to convince him, he refused to bulge, insisting that since he did not inform the Commission of his visit because it was not an official trip, hence he was not entitled to such grandeur.

When the former military ruler left Abuja on May 22, Friday, on board was the controversial minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The trip was Buhari’s first outside Nigeria since he won the March 28th presidential poll.
The president-elect had a meeting with the British prime minister David Cameron at his 10 Downing Street official residence.
It was reported that the top item in the talks was the continuing threat the Boko Haram sect posed to Nigeria’s security.
Meanwhile, Buhari’s media team has stated that the president-elect is expected back in the country a few days before the inauguration, adding that he would be refreshed and ready to hit the ground running once he is sworn into

Buhari Rejects Ministerial List - Sources

Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly turned against the governors by rejecting the ministerial list suggested by them.
This Day reports with reference to its sources that the president-elect might be heading for a collision with the party leadership in the states just ahead of the May 29 power transition.
Buhari had previously said that he would not allow anyone to decide for him on the ministers.

The source confirmed the information that the president-elect had resisted the governors’ pressure.
“He is insisting that no one has the right to appoint ministers for him since he would not appoint commissioners for any of the state governors.”
According to the report Buhari’s trip to the UK was partially connected with this confrontation, as he left  Nigeria to escape from the pressures being mounted on him by influential people who want to advance their candidates.
A party chieftain who pleaded for anonymity said that some non-partisan professionals and technocrats who did not participate in the APC struggle for power now wanted to hijack the positions in the cabinet.
Sources disclosed that Buhari had been submitted long lists of names for the ministerial positions. It is alleged that the APC governors planned to lobby for at least a slot for one of the three nominees approved by the party from each state.
Vanguard adds that Buhari, dissatisfied with the current development, directed the the party heads to pass the message of non-interference to the governors.
Meanwhile, things are gradually being settled for the upcoming power transition ceremony scheduled for Friday.
The Namadi Sambo-led transition committee yesterday presented the handover note to Buhari’s committee headed by Ahmed Joda.
This comes after a series of accusations that the acting authorities are refusing to cooperate with the incoming government to enable a smooth power transition.

PDP Top Official Says BUHARI has come to save Nigeria

Chief Donald Etiebet, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, has claimed that it was God who gave the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to Nigerians in to sve the country.
Etiebet said to Vanguard that incoming Buhari’s government will cut down the cost of governance and slowly turn the fortunes of the nation’s economy around for good with strict devotion to the rule of law.
He said: “Yes, I believe in General Muhammadu Buhari as a person who God has given to Nigeria at these trying times to save Nigeria, to get Nigeria working again and to reposition Nigeria and change her face in the comity of nations for respect and seriousness of purpose in tackling the ills of the count
“Having worked with him in the past as the National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), I believe he will make Nigeria a different place where security, economy, discipline and the rule of law will abound to contain corruption. I only pray that Nigerians would understand him and give him the necessary support in the face of challenges and difficulties to put his programmes through unimpeded.”
Etiebet who is also the former minister of petroleum resources, suggested that his expectations from Buhari’s administration are summarized in his resolve to fight corruption and insecurity, and to revitalize the economy, added that “one of the cardinal things he must do would be to reposition INEC in all its ramifications to conduct free, fair, credible, violent free and acceptable elections because he suffered the pangs of rigged elections thrice to become president.

On the immediate steps which PDP top official feels the president-elect led government should address immediately it is inaugurated, Chief Etiebet said: “I would like to note first that there are many landmines laid for him which if he steps on them directly, they would explode disastrously on his face.So he should use this opportunity to put in place the machinery for credible elections always. Faulty elections are at the basic roots of all democratic short comings in this country,” he noted.
The first is the petrol, PMS, supply situation. The outgoing government is owing the importers and marketers hundreds of billions of Naira which they are not likely to pay before May 29th. And there is no money in the kitty to pay when he takes over with dwindling foreign exchange reserve, lost crude oil production, falling crude oil prices, huge debts overhang, the clamour by certain interest groups in the country not to remove the petrol subsidy and salary debts by many states.
“But there must be petrol at the filling stations otherwise the country cannot survive a week. I can tell you that salaries can wait for a month but lack of petrol cannot,” he added.
It should be noted that Muhammadu Buhari officialy takes over as Nigeria’s president on May 29, Friday, but his inauguration could not have come at a worse time, with the country reeling from a cash crunch and a crippling strike over fuel.

Goliath's Skull

Goliath's Skull Found Near Jerusalem?
'The Kingdom Times, Belfast, May 1994, carried the story of how a leading archaeologist had found Goliath's skull in a valley west of Jerusalem with the stone from David's slingshot still embedded in his forehead! Dr. Richard Martin says the discovery proves that David's battle with the 10-foot giant happened just like the Bible said it did, 1,000 years before the birth of Yahshua.
'This is the archaeological find of the century, if not of all time,' Dr. Martin told reporters at a conference in Jerusalem. 'Many people, including scholars and clergymen, would have us believe that the biblical account of David and Goliath is little more than an interesting piece of fiction,' he said.
'But we found this skull in the valley of Elah, in the foothills of the Judean mountains, where David's battle with Goliath was said to have taken place. Even more intriguing, the skull is HUGE and clearly belonged to a man of ENORMOUS STATUE.
'And if you believe the Bible, you know that Goliath was 9 feet 8 inches tall.
'But the most telling piece of evidence is the small round rock we found embedded in the forehead. The Bible tells that David killed Goliath with a stone flung from a leather sling.
'Dr. Martin found the skull during an archaeological survey 20 miles south-west of Jerusalem on 23rd March, 1993. He and his assistants instantly realized that the find was important; but it was only when they had performed tests which showed the skull to be between 2,900 and 3,000 years old that they began to think they had found the remains of Goliath.
'The Bible places the battle between David and Goliath around 990 B.C., or 1,000 years before the birth of Yahshua,' Dr. Martin said.
'According to the Bible the battle began as a band of Israelites were preparing to fight a band of Philistines in the Valley of Elah.
'At that point in history it was common for enemies to avoid massive casualties by allowing one man fron each side to fight for their respective armies. To quote the Bible, Goliath, challenged the Israelites to 'choose a man and let him come to me. If he be able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I...kill him, then you will serve us.'
'David answered the challenge and killed Goliath with a single stone thrown from a leather sling. When Goliath hit the ground, David chopped off his head with Goliath's own sword.
'As I said before, the skull that we found had a rock stuck in the forehead. There was also evidence to suggest that the head had been SEVERED from the body by a sharp object, most likely a sword. There can be little doubt that this is Goliath's skull. To be perfectly frank, I'm staking my career on it,' said Dr. Martin.'

7 Fun Ways to Celebrate Your Man’s Birthday

BY:
Stumped on how to make your partner’s birthday special? You are not alone since my husband’s birthday is less than a week away and I have been thinking about how to make this day more special. Each birthday is worth celebrating and if it’s a birthday of someone you love, you will do anything possible to make this day unforgettable. Whether you are ready to spend a fortune on a gift or you are low on cash, here are a few amazing ideas on how to celebrate your man’s birthday to consider:Fun Ways to Celebrate Your Man's Birthday

1. Take him on a trip

If you have time and money, and if your man isn’t too busy, a romantic gateway might be the perfect way to celebrate his birthday. There’s a great number of awesome destinations to choose from. If you decide to take a romantic trip, an inn or a lodge may be a fantastic spot. A camping trip is another great idea, especially if your man is an outdoorsman. However, if both of you are trying to save for a house or a new car, taking your man on a road trip may be a fun idea too.

2. Make his favorite meal

If you can cook and you know your guy’s favorite dish, why not make it on his birthday? For my husband’s birthday, I plan to make a couple of his favorite meals, and want to cook something absolutely new. Men like it when a woman cooks something tasty for them. If your man prefers to dine out, consider taking him to one of his favorite restaurants.

3. Give your attention

Perhaps, the most important thing to give your man on his birthday is certainly your attention. On his birthday, try to pay more attention to your sweetheart. Turn off your phones, TV and laptops. Forget about social media and your friends. Let your family and friends know that you will be unavailable on that day. This year, celebrate your guy’s birthday without being interrupted, he will appreciate that.

4. Make his favorite dessert

Sure, a birthday cake is a must, but why not try making something new and different? My husband doesn’t love birthday cakes so I’ve decided to make a delicious dessert for him. Make your man’s favorite dessert, add candles to it and sing “Happy Birthday” to him to make his birthday even more special.

5. Get the tickets to his favorite event

If there’s a certain sporting event or concert that your man would love to go to, surprise your sweetheart with the tickets for this event. To make your gift more exciting and unforgettable, don’t tell him about the tickets for the event until you both get there. In case the event isn’t on your man’s birthday, you can give him a small present and tell him you have something amazing planned.

6. Write a love letter

I know it’s easier to send your man an email or a text to wish him happy birthday. While there’s nothing wrong with it, I suggest you write your sweetheart a love letter. Use your letter to wish your significant other happy birthday and to tell him how much you love and appreciate him. He will definitely like this sweet, little gift.

7. Throw a surprise party

One of the best ways to celebrate your man’s birthday is to throw a surprise party. This is especially wonderful if your partner has family and friends that he rarely gets to see. If you are planning to host a big party, make sure you tell all guests a month in advance. Don’t forget to tell them you are having a surprise birthday party and your man shouldn’t know about it.
As we get older, we tend to skip celebrating birthdays. Your boyfriend/husband may not plan to celebrate his birthday, but luckily he has you who are ready to make this special day even more special. Hopefully, these ideas helped you and now you know how to make his birthday unforgettable. If you have any other bright ideas, feel free to share them with us.
